This course seeks to provide students with a broad-based understanding of economic development and the choices countries face. To obtain such an understanding, students will read the works of contemporary economists who provide a variety of approaches to poverty alleviation and the tradeoffs that must be confronted. Emphasis will be placed on close reading, class discussion, and on writing a number of papers that compare and contrast different views of economic development

What is JAMB UTME subject combination (subjects needed) for Economics and Development Studies?
You should aim for a score of 180 – 200 and above in JAMB UTME to be on a safe side (Just an advice) because anything short of that may deny you of Admission/Post UTME. Of course, if you have a score below 180, you can consider College of Education or Polytechnic… Please note – JAMB is not the only option for admission. If you’re having troubles JAMB UTME maybe it’s time you pass through IJBM, JUBEB, ND or Predegree. JAMB UTME subject combination (subject to write in jamb) for Economics and Development Studies are

  1. Economics
  2. Mathematics
  3. Any of Government, History, Geography, Lit-inEnglish, French and CRK/IRK

 

What is Direct Entry requirement (that is the required A-level result you need) to study Economics and Development Studies?
Two ‘A’ level passes in Economics and any one of Mathematics, Statistics, Geography Physics, Chemistry, Agric Science, Accounting, Business Management, History and Government
