What is O level/WAEC subject combination (requirement) for Civil Engineering?
The subjects needed to study Civil Engineering in WAEC must contain five (5) credit. This subject combination is also applicable to NECO AND GCE… The O level requirement that is the compulsory WAEC subject combination for Civil Engineering must include:

Civil Engineering is as old as the Tower of Babel When it comes to Engineering, Civil Engineering is one of the broadest and oldest of the engineering disciplines, extending across many technical specialties. Civil Engineers plan, design, and supervise the construction of facilities essential to modern life like space satellites and launching facilities, offshore structures, bridges, buildings, tunnels, highways, transit systems, dams, airports, harbors, water supply system and wastewater treatment plants. A civil engineer is responsible for planning and designing a project, constructing the project to the required scale, and maintenance of the project. A civil engineer requires not only a high standard of engineering knowledge but also supervisory and administrative skills.

What does a Civil Engineer do?

  • Civil engineers are involved in the design and building of highways, bridges and tunnels, schools, hospitals, airports and other buildings, sewage systems and water treatment facilities.
  • Most structures, large and small, require the help of a civil engineer whether in the designing, planning or managing of the project.
  • Civil engineers also help to preserve our environment by assisting in the cleaning up of existing pollution and planning ways to reduce future pollution of our air, land and water.

What is JAMB UTME subject combination (subjects needed) for Civil Engineering?
You should aim for a score of 180 – 200 and above in JAMB UTME to be on a safe side (Just an advice) because anything short of that may deny you of Admission/Post UTME. Of course, if you have a score below 180, you can consider College of Education or Polytechnic… Please note – JAMB is not the only option for admission. If you’re having troubles JAMB UTME maybe it’s time you pass through IJBM, JUBEB, ND or Predegree. JAMB UTME subject combination (subject to write in jamb) for Civil Engineering are

  1. Physics
  2. Chemistry
  3. Mathematics If you don’t have credit in Mathematics, Click here fast

What is Direct Entry requirement (that is the required A-level result you need) to study Civil Engineering?
‘A’ level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

Just a reminder: Everything you have read so far is a general requirement, it is expedient that you also check the special consideration for this course below. If for some reasons you are not satisfied or cannot meet up with the subject combination above, perhaps you should consider taking a look at Polytechnic or College of Education related course subject requirements. You can also study online with a foreign university right from your bedroom or apply for a scholarship to study abroad. Education is now a choice.

So now that you know the compulsory WAEC, JAMB subject combination for Civil Engineering, (which is also applicable to NECO and GCE) as well as A-level result/certificate. Do you know which Universities in Nigeria offer Civil Engineering?
